ExiteCMS Wiki : Modules

Installable Modules

The ExiteCMS core supports installable modules, which can be downloaded and installed separately. Installable modules come in two flavors:

Modules

Modules extend the functionality of the ExiteCMS core, and usually have their own admin panel, which get installed in one of CMS administration pages when you install the module. Modules often have their own database tables as well.

  • shoutbox_panel
Side panel that implements a shoutbox. Users can type in short messages that are shown to all users of the website. You can configure whether or not you allow guest posts in the website settings admin panel.Installing this module also installs a administration module in the User Administration section, from where an administrator with access to this module can moderate the posts, and ban users if needed.

  • donations (not released yet)
Module for accepting and registering donations and payments, either through PayPal, or via bank transfer. It provides a panel on which users can enter a PayPal donation, and lists bank account information. There is also a donation overview page, that lists all people that have made a donation.
For PayPal payments, it supports PayPal's notify call-backs, and only add the donation to the list if the money is actually transferred.
The module comes with an administration panel, installed in the Installable Modules section. Here you can modify payment information, add payments manually (p.e. for people that paid through bank transfer). There is also an option to enter details about what you did with the money donated, to show you did something useful with it!

  • advertising
Module for adding advertisements and sponsor banners to your site. Currently, it supports banners in the forums, and in a side- or body panel. It allows for multiple priorities and different rotation schemes. The banners are SEO friendly. Your sponsors or clients will have a menu option to check the statistics of their banners, and to change the URL the banner links to.

  • Mail-to-Forum
This module implements email-to-forum (and back) functionality, similar to the M2F add-on that exists for phpBB.
Note that for the current version (1.0.0), only POP3 is supported for incoming email, and a separate POP3 box has to be created for every forum supported.

  • Wiki
This is an ExiteCMS module implementation of Wikka Wakka Wiki. It is completely integrated into ExiteCMS, and comes with an administration panel that will be installed in the Installable Modules section. This panel can be used to configure the Wiki.
